Chances are we might have some more strength in the leaders of the past year, as mutual funds close out their 4th quarter portfolios. The funds want to hold winners and shed the losers. Thursday was the 24th day of the current QQQQ short term up-trend. As this weekly GMMA chart of the QQQQ shows, the Nasdaq 100 index remains in a strong RWB up-trend.
You mentioned that you scale in your leveraged ETF position, starting from new trend. I would appreciate if you can explain a little more in detail as to how you scale in. Is it half position at the turn of trend and other half at confirmation of the trend or some other strategy. Thanks
It is more art than science and depends on the stock’s and the market’s action. I may buy 2-3 calls on a bounce and add 2-3 more after a few days if it holds.
